Joseph Anthony Germanotta Jr. was a director and entrepreneur of an Internet-based company was her father. She was raised in an elite Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan in a Catholic family. She was enrolled by her parents at the Convent of the Sacred Heart - a religious, elitist and private school. It was a passion for her since childhood. She started playing the piano when she was just a little girl. After the age of 13, she composed her first song. She performed at open mic nights. Her top singers were the Queen of Pop, Michael Jackson Madonna, David Bowie. When she finished high school she enrolled in at the Tisch School of Art at New York University to study music. Although she was not able to pursue her studies, and instead she quit the school to begin her music career.
